
This assessment route provides an alternative route to the conventional approach and leads to the award of the prestigious London School of Communication Certificate of Professional Practice.
This is for applicants who have undergone formal academic training in further/higher education with similar curriculum to that of LSC and comparable to the British standard. This route is only for applicants who demonstrate significant professionalism, specialization and focus in the subject areas and have developed their portfolio to the advanced level satisfactorily to LSC curriculum.
It is different from the conventional mode in that it retrospectively evaluates the academic and professional training and subsequent work experience an applicant has aquired over time.
The route is to recognize candidates/professionals who have gained sufficient work experience in lieu of academic qualifications or both. It is a provision for mature candidates.
Certificate of Professional Practice
The route is obtainable by individuals who have gained work experience or/and academic qualification up to British bachelor’s degree or equivalent and within any one of the following disciplines: New Media, Journalism, Public Opinion, Political Communication, Mass Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Cultural Studies/Intercultural Communication, Television / Film Studies, Media Studies, Business Communication, Organizational/ Management Communication, Written Communication, electronic communication, Literacy Studies, Public Relations, marketing Communication, Advertising, Health Communication and other related disciplines with communication orientations.
The assessment takes 12 weeks. Applicants will be appointed assessors who will score applicants’ portfolio through a blind review process.

Applicants can apply for this route anytime in the year as assessment is on continuous basis. Assessment request is taken every working day except on bank holidays.

Applicants in ‘clean pass category’ shall be issued Certificate of Professional Practice immediately while those on ‘provisional pass subject to certain conditions’ shall have their certificate issued upon meeting the conditions stated in the letter. Applicants on ‘not qualified status’ can only be issued Certificate of Professional Practice if they reapply after six months provided there is a considerable improvement in their portfolio which is reassessed all over again. Applicants who reapply shall be given a reasonable discount on assessment fees.
