Course Description

The course examines the requisite of writing for the web, from the principles and process of writing, through elements of composition, to an examination of common errors of writing. It involves practical writing exercises and error detection clinics.

Course Objectives

The course aims at exposing students to the demonstration of adequate understanding of the basic fundamentals of writing, especially the nitty-gritty of mass media writing. It teaches how to detect and correct ‘institutionalized’ errors in media writing as well as in English language. Above all, it teaches how to do technical web writing in across different disciplines.

Qualification to be awarded

Diploma Students:   Professional Diploma in Web Writing
Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC) students: Professional Certificate in Web Writing.

Who Should Attend

Journalists, sub-editors, freelance journalists or anyone who want to learn new things or update their skills in Web Writing.

Course Duration

3 months for diploma students, 4 days for Intensive Professional Development (PDC) students

Taught Mode

Available in both classroom and distance learning.
3 months Diploma Course available in both classroom and distance learning.
Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC) available for classroom only.

Course Fee

350 Great Britain Pound Sterling for diploma students, 300 Great Britain Pound Sterling  for PDC students        

Course Start Dates

3 months Diploma Course classroom mode: March, June, September, December
3 months Diploma Course distance learning mode: students can enroll anytime as admission is on continuous basis
Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC) : Courses are run on any four days on a monthly basis. Students to contact the School office for days.
