Course Description

Cyber journalism emerged as a result of influx of new information and communication technologies and globalization and is becoming dominant and important by day. Cyber journalism caught Journalists and journalism training institutions unprepared and as a result created a big vacuum in journalism education and practice in the emerged global village. This course seeks to bridge that gap and prepares newspaper journalists for entrance into online newspapers and magazines. It teaches the why and how of online newspaper and magazine.

Course Objectives

The course aims at exposing paper journalists to paperless journalism, teaching the why and how. The course provides basic introduction and needed knowledge of online newspaper and magazine practice.

Qualification to be awarded

Diploma Students:   Professional Diploma in Online Journalism (Print Option)
Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC) students: Professional Certificate in Cyber Journalism Practice

Journalists or anyone who want to learn new things or update their skills in newspaper/magazine journalism. The course is a must for newspaper and magazine journalists who want to be relevant with the new trend in journalism world.

Course Duration

3 months for diploma students, 4 days for Intensive Professional Development (PDC) students.

Taught Mode

Available in both classroom and distance learning.

Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC) available for classroom only.

Course Fee

350 Great Britain Pound Sterling for diploma students, 300 Great Britain Pound Sterling  for PDC students        

Course Start Date

3 months Diploma Course classroom mode: March, June, September, December
3 months Diploma Course distance learning mode: Application can be made anytime as admission is on a continuous basis.
Intensive Professional Development Course (PDC): Courses are run on any four days on a monthly basis. Students to contact the School office for days.

Minimum Entry Requirements

GCSE O’ level or equivalent
Good knowledge of computer and the Internet
